Shiney Ahuja’s wife Anupam claims her husband is “innocent” and also dismisses the reports that the actor has confessed to having consensual sex with his housemaid. As Shiney Ahuja is locked up in police custody (till June 18) on the charges of raping his domestic help, the actor’s wife and family is standing firmly beside him. Anupam, who’s been married to Shiney for about 10 years, flew down from Delhi to Mumbai on Sunday night after learning about Shiney’s detention by cops on rape charges leveled by the maid working at his residence at Oshiwara’s Tarapore Towers.
“My husband is innocent and I stand by him in this hour. He’s a wonderful person, a caring husband, and a great father,” Anupam said. She also rubbished reports of Shiney’s confession as “a lie”. Anupam also denied that there was any rift in her marriage with Shiney. She said she liked to stay out of media glare and that is why she wasn’t seen often with her husband at parties and Bollywood events. Calling her husband as a man with a golden heart, she hoped that justice would be done. Lawyer Shrikant Shivade, who’s representing Shiney, says the actor has been “framed”.
