The film-makers are trying out new promotion techniques these days. After Aamir Khan’s unique promotional tour across the seven cities of India, the makers of ‘Chance Pe Dance’ have come up with another novel idea for the promotion of the film. The film deals with the struggles of newcomers when they come to join the glamour and glitz of the tinsel town. In keeping with the spirit of the film, the leading stars spent a whole night sitting on the roof and bonnet of a car.
They came at around midnight on Wednesday in T-shirts and track pants at the Kamalistan Studios in Mumbai. Vada pao and tea vendors were present along with khatiyas (string cot) nearby for the audience. Both Shahid and Genelia had tea together. This went on till 7 a.m Thursday.
Actor Shahid Kapoor said that this reminded him of his struggle period which included renting a number of houses to spending a night in a second hand Maruti 800 to giving 100s of auditions and getting rejected.
“All these things are a memory. I am very happy and proud of the fact that God has been so kind to me and given me so much. I am glad that I was able to get through all those difficulties in my life,” said Shahid.
Shahid said that this resembled a real-life incident with him. “We always lived in a rented flat and we had to shift from one flat to the other and my family was not in town. Due to some reason we had to leave the flat a day before and I had to spent the night in the car.”
